July 1, 2008
Dear Friends of the Farmer’s Market:
Planning is well underway for the upcoming season of the Tilton / Northfield Farmer’s Market. Again this year, we will host the market at 5 Prospect Street in Tilton (the old Tilton Post Office), at the corners of Main, Park, and Prospect Streets.
We want to extend our thanks to everyone who helped make the 2007 season such a success and we are excited to welcome new vendors for the 2008 season. This year our goal will be to increase efforts for promoting the market and increasing your sales. We welcome your ideas and feedback on ways to do this.
The 2008 season will begin the second Sat in June, and end the last Saturday in September for a total of 14 weeks. The market is scheduled to take place every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 noon. Booth spaces will be assigned on a first come, first served basis, with returning vendors given preference. As we did last year, I will try to limit the number of similar product vendors to increase your profitability.
This year we are asking for a one-time ‘Registration’ fee, of which, 100% will be used to advertise and promote the Tilton / Northfield Farmer’s Market. I have included discounts for early registration and options for partial registration. Please see the Vendor Fee sheet enclosed for more details.
The market itself will operate essentially the same, with vendors able to drive up to the vendor’s area for loading and unloading. Vendors are encouraged to leave nearby parking spaces around 5 Prospect Street for market customers. We are working on getting live music for some of the market dates, as well as healthy cooking classes/demonstrations. This should encourage shoppers and make for a more enjoyable “market experience”.
If have any questions or suggestions about the Farmer’s Market, please feel free to contact me, either by phone or by e-mail. I look forward to seeing you in Tilton this season.
Sincerely yours,
Timothy P. Lang Sr.
